Change the future of urban cycling in Ljubljana - European Best Destination 2022!

As part of the world's leading cycling conference Velo-city 2022 in Ljubljana, the City of Ljubljana with partners is organizing a Smart Pedal Pitch 2022 for startups and SMEs. It is a unique innovation competition for better cities, better cycling ecosystems and cycling technology. Ljubljana is the former European Green Capital and European Best Destination 2022, as well as a popular tech and startup destination.

The City of Ljubljana is looking for the latest market-ready cycling innovations that will shape the future of cycling in the city and create a healthier, sustainable, vibrant and economically dynamic living environment.

Ten shortlisted companies will be invited to the Velo-city 2022 conference in Ljubljana on June 15. Three finalists will have the opportunity to present their idea to the jury and the local public on June 16 and win the following prizes: 

• 1st PRIZE:
  • o 17,000 €, out of which 10,000 € is in cash, 5,000 € in billboard space, 1,000 € in Velo-city 2022 conference ticket and 1,000 € in coworking space in Technology park Ljubljana.
  • o 6 months of Ljubljana’s support to implement / testbed your solution in Ljubljana.
• 2nd PRIZE:
  • o 4,000 €, out of which 2,000 € is in cash, 1,000 € in Velo-city 2022 conference ticket  and 1,000 € coworking space at Technology park Ljubljana
• 3rd PRIZE:
  • o 3,000 €, out of which 1,000 € is in cash, 1,000 € in Velo-city 2022 conference ticket and 1,000 € coworking space at Technology park Ljubljana

All three will also get exposure to local and global audience. The winner will get the opportunity to test their solution in the streets of Ljubljana and prove the concept in a real environment!
