Co – creation workshop “Together for Health Innovation”

With openness, knowledge and collaboration, we set out to explore and co-create solutions to some of the current day-to-day challenges facing healthcare institutions and hospitals.
We have successfully held a workshop where insights into the real needs and working environment, from the perspective of primary and secondary level of healthcare, were shared with us by Novo mesto General Hospital, Adolfa Drolca Health Centre Maribor, UKC Maribor and ZD Cerknica.
The central thread of the co-creation workshop was the challenges identified earlier:
- Logistical information for visitors - addressed the need for a unified and up-to-date information system for visitors to healthcare facilities (digital displays, web, print), as patients often get lost or delayed.

Digital support for staff planning - groups looked for solutions to automate rotas and improve response to staff changes (e.g. sick leave), which would relieve administration and increase efficiency;

Optimised choice of hospital meals - the discussion focused on introducing a system that would allow patients to choose meals according to their nutritional needs, thus reducing waste and improving recovery.
The added value of dialogue between the health and technology sectors is empowerment to co-create solutions:
- Better insight into existing solutions already available on the market.
- A deeper exchange of experiences between sectors facing similar organisational challenges.
- Establishing concrete starting points for further work within internal teams/teams/departments of healthcare organisations.
