News type: Erasmus

Uma Hajsinger, a young entrepreneur with an unstoppable passion for organizing music events, joined the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) program to gain international experience and develop new skills. Coming from a small town with limited opportunities, she saw the program as the perfect chance to push her boundaries and grow her entrepreneurial potential. The EYE program connects aspiring entrepreneurs with experienced mentors across Europe, providing them with a unique opportunity to learn firsthand how businesses operate in different cultural and professional environments.

In Berlin, Uma was hosted by Oliver Pinchbeck, the founder of the artistic project Katapult, which supports young artists and creators. With his rich experience in performing arts and managing creative spaces, Oliver was the ideal mentor for Uma. “Uma brought fresh energy and creativity to our team,” says Oliver. “Her dedication to event organization was outstanding – she optimized some of our workflows while learning about the challenges of running an artistic project.”

Uma’s time in Berlin proved to be highly productive, as she gained practical skills that transformed her approach to business. She mastered tools like Canva for design, WordPress for website management, and Skedda for event scheduling. “I became more confident in organizing and promoting events,” Uma proudly explains. “The program also taught me time management, working under pressure, and even introduced me to circus arts, which I never thought I would enjoy!”

Beyond her professional development, the program also contributed to her personal growth. She improved her English, picked up some German, and built a valuable professional network that will support her future projects. “If you’re considering joining the program, just go for it! You’ll learn so much about yourself and your business,” Uma encourages.

Thanks to the EYE program, Uma is now equipped with new skills, fresh ideas, and the confidence to launch her entrepreneurial journey successfully.
