The CO-PATH project (CO-creation PATHway for Responsible Health Innovation) was selected among the eight top proposals in the open REINFORCING call, aimed at promoting open and responsible research and innovation practices (ORRI) in Europe.

This selection confirms the quality of the project’s approach, which places collaboration, social responsibility, and the co-creation of solutions in healthcare at its core.

Within the project, Technology Park Ljubljana will develop and institutionalize a co-creation methodology that enables the systematic involvement of healthcare organizations in responsible innovation processes. The methodology will be developed and pilot-tested with mentoring support from Kontekst, in collaboration with healthcare organizations as well as entrepreneurial and industrial actors.

Learning through practice will include the implementation of pilot co-creation workshops with healthcare institutions, the development and public release of the ORRI tool CO-PATH: A Co-Creation Pathway for ORRI towards Health Innovation, and the integration of ORRI principles into the internal procedures and support services of Technology Park Ljubljana.

Through these activities, the project will contribute to change at three levels:

  1. At the organizational level, Technology Park Ljubljana will strengthen the way it supports healthcare innovators—by fostering greater collaboration, reflection on social impact, and early user involvement in solution development.

  2. At the ecosystem level, CO-PATH will connect healthcare institutions and innovators in open dialogue, making it easier to identify real-world needs from practice and to jointly build trust and long-term collaborations.

  3. At the societal level, the project promotes more responsible and transparent development of healthcare innovations, giving a voice to healthcare professionals, patients, and the wider community—for a more human-centered and inclusive healthcare system in the future.
