We kindly invite you to participate in the 5th SYMCRAFT Workshop on Collaboration Models between the Textile Industry and Crafts/Design, organised by Technology Park Ljubljana (TPLJ) within the framework of the SYMCRAFT project (Interreg Central Europe).

The workshop will take place on Monday, 15 June 2026, from 13:30 to 17:00 at Technology Park Ljubljana (Tehnološki park 19, 1000 Ljubljana, Building C, VR/XR Lab, 3rd floor).

The fifth and final workshop within Work Package 2 will focus on an in-depth exploration of the legal, business and environmental aspects of collaboration between the textile industry and craftspeople/designers in Slovenia.

Participants will first be introduced to the key findings of the SYMCRAFT survey on collaboration models, followed by a review of practical examples of legal and business documentation required for establishing industrial symbiosis. Particular attention will also be given to regulatory requirements related to the management of textile residues and waste, which represent an important element in the successful implementation of circular collaboration models.

During the practical session, participants will have the opportunity to test the SYMCRAFT AI Tool for Collaboration Models, developed to support the establishment of industrial symbiosis within the textile sector. The tool assists users in identifying opportunities for material reuse, connecting potential partners and closing material loops with the aim of reducing textile residues and waste in Slovenia.

The SYMCRAFT AI Tool for Collaboration Models is available HERE and can be used to explore collaboration opportunities between the textile industry and crafts/design for the establishment of industrial symbiosis.

Please bring your laptop

To actively participate in the testing session of the SYMCRAFT AI Tool, we kindly ask all participants to bring their own laptop.

What to bring

Craftspeople and designers are kindly invited to bring:

• a prototype of a product or service made from textile residual materials (if already developed);
• a selection of textile residual materials that you use or intend to use in your products and services.

Representatives of textile companies generating textile residues or waste are kindly invited to bring a small quantity of textile material that can be presented to workshop participants as a potential basis for collaboration with craftspeople and designers.
