Our Journey

  • 1994: The „technology park idea“ starts as a 2-year pilot project.
  • 1995: The company Tehnološki park Ljubljana d.o.o. is incorporated
  • 1996: The park begins operations with 9 member companies.
  • 1999: An internal credit fund for the members is established.
  • 2001: The Park gains its first European project.
  • 2003: The Municipality of Ljubljana enters the ownership structure.
  • 2005: The infrastructure project of Technology Park at Brdo is approved and the development of the infrastructure at the current main location begins.
  • 2006: Construction works begin on seven modern business buildings aimed for the needs of knowledge-based companies.
  • 2007: Ljubljana Technology Park opens the first four buildings at Brdo location.
  • 2009: Ljubljana Technology Park merges with the Centre for the Development of Small Industry and is fortified both in terms of staff and its operations.
  • 2010: The company develops the concept of continued development of infrastructure at Brdo.
  • 2010: The Director of the Ljubljana Technology Park takes the helm of the European Section of the World Association of Science Parks for the next two years.
  • 2011: Commencement of a strategic partnership with Tovarna podjemov. Establishment of the Start-up Center and the design of Go: Global Slovenia.
  • 2012: Establishment of the Start: up Slovenia initiative - a partnership for a globally competitive national startup ecosystem.
  • 2014: Implementation and coordination of two national business accelerators Start:up Geek House and Go:Global Slovenia for seed capital of EUR 50,000 (SK50) and EUR 200,000 (SK200).
  • 2015: Establishment of a restaurant, a pharmacy and a kindergarten in the Brdo region.
  • 2016: The Ljubljana Technology Park is a partner in 16 European projects.
  • 2020: The company's CEO becomes one of four delegates to the IASP ThinkTank, a special committee for the global development of technology parks.
  • 2020: Ljubljana Technology Park develops and coordinates campaigns against COVID-19 and participates in the development of prototypes of respirators, medical masks and visors.
  • 2021: We have won the first EU Horizon call, which is one step more difficult than the previous ones.
  • 2021: Ljubljana Technology Park acquires and opens Gazelle Park, dedicated to the best and fastest growing companies. Ljubljana Technology Park is also home to the Gazelle Council, where the Golden Gazelles are selected.
  • 2021: We have set up mechatronics coworking, VR coworking and BioTech coworking.
  • 2022: We open the Start-up Centre, where innovative technology companies receive half-price offices and content support from the team and the community.
  • 2022: We won a new project format: We won two calls for proposals under the Norwegian funding mechanism.
  • 2022: We are the most successful partner in the EU in terms of the number of Erasmus exchange programmes for young entrepreneurs.
  • 2023: The director Jernej Pintar, PhD is elected president of the European division of the International Association of Technology Parks (IASP) and defeats his London opponent.
