OIS-AIR Proof of Concept Call – Innovation voucher winners announced

Winners of the 10 innovation vouchers within OIS-AIR Proof of Concept Call (PoC Call), designed to support innovative projects to be jointly developed by research institutes and SMEs in Adriatic Ionian Region, are announced! The 10 winners have been awarded with the 18.500 EUR voucher and must conclude their researches on the 15th May 2020.
In detail, since OIS-AIR PoC Call supported the co-development of research results by research centers and SMEs in the field of Transport & Mobility, Energy & Environment and Agro-Bioeconomy, 6 selected projects refer to the Agro Bioeconomy thematic area, 3 of them to the Energy and Environment, while 1 awarded project refers to the Transport and Mobility thematic area.
Five out of ten awarded projects were submitted by a transnational partnership, thus confirming the international scope of the initiative and the implementation of a concrete open innovation approach.
The voucher beneficiaries are research center/universities in the Adriatc-Ionian region: SISSA, University of Maribor, University of Belgrade, University of Padua, University of Udine, TECOS -Razvojni center orodjarstva Slovenije, University of Parma and University of Ljubljana.

OIS-AIR PoC Call is a transnational initiative promoted by the OIS-AIR Network, established by partners from six countries (Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Greece and Albania), in order to boost economic growth and competitiveness in the Adriatic Ionian Region. The objective of the OIS-AIR innovation vouchers is to provide financial support to the successful conversion of good research into good business.
The Proof of Concept Call started in May 2019 and turned out to be a very attractive for research centers and companies of the Adriatic-Ionian region: under the Call for Ideas, 100 technologies/research results were submitted by research centers/universities in July, while in October 65 R2B joint innovation projects were submitted by research centers/universities together with SMEs under the Call for Projects. Following the evaluation phase, top 10 R2B innovation projects are now ready to be co-funded with 18.500€ OISAIR innovation voucher each!

The OIS-AIR -Establishment of the Open Innovation System of the Adriatic Ionian Region project is financed by Interreg Adrion EU Programme. Its goal is to establish a single marketplace for technology and innovation, competitive and attractive at macro-regional level, involving relevant stakeholders from different sectors in Adriatic-Ionian Region, from research institutions to SMEs and public administration.
